VOICES OF THE SAFFRON REVOLUTION: BURMESE MONKS SPEAK - EXCERPT
Voices of the Saffron Revolution: Burmese Monks Speak - Excerpt
Burmese monks have recently been victims of brutal beatings, imprisonment and
assassination for their attempts to work towards the vision of democracy in
Burma. These 4 monks were amongst those who organized and led the 2007 Saffron Revolution, the peaceful protest of thousands of monks throughout Burma.
This event was organized by the Burma 88 Coalition and CTICE, with
support from the Undergraduate Human Rights Program, the Office of the
University Chaplain, the Student Governing Board, Columbia
International Relations Council and Association (CIRCA), and the
Columbia Political Union.
